三猿

ちょっと前のニューズウィークに載っていた風刺漫画に、三猿らしいものが描かれていた。あれ？アメリカにも三猿ってあるのかな？と思われたので、Wikipediaで調べてみると

三猿は世界的にも"Three wise monkeys"として知られ、「見ざる、聞かざる、言わざる」という叡智の三つの秘密を示しているとされる。

で、英語版にはこうある。

In English, the monkeys' names are often given as Mizaru, Mikazaru, and Mazaru. It is not clear how the last two names changed from the Japanese originals.
